Former Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath has leveled sharp criticism at the state government’s capital development roadmap, labeling the current approach to Amaravati a failure of governance. He contends that the administration consistently ignores technical expertise in favor of impulsive, poorly planned decision-making that undermines long-term economic stability.
The YSRCP leader specifically targeted the rejection of findings from a parliamentary-backed technical committee. According to Rajendranath, this body conducted an exhaustive analysis of the state's geography and resources, ultimately recommending a decentralized model that the current administration abandoned. He argues that the transition away from Hyderabad was executed without a coherent policy framework, leaving the state’s infrastructure and economic planning in a vacuum.Rajendranath reserved his harshest assessment for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, awarding his tenure a zero for economic performance. He characterized the government's track record between 2014 and 2019 as a period of aimless development, where sudden shifts in policy replaced strategic growth. By prioritizing political optics over the committee’s data-driven insights, the administration has effectively stalled the state's potential for sustainable progress.
