Hundreds of cyclists flooded Mumbai streets this World Environment Day, trading cars for pedals in the 'Pedal for Planet' event. Organized by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the rally drew a coalition of fitness enthusiasts and community leaders to promote sustainable habits and a cleaner urban environment for the city.

BJP Mumbai President Ameet Satam and BJYM Mumbai President Deepak Singh spearheaded the initiative, framing the ride as a call for individual accountability in ecological conservation. Satam urged residents to replace convenience-driven habits with sustainable daily choices, arguing that the path to a greener city begins with incremental changes in personal behavior.

The event served as a platform for civic engagement, drawing notable figures including MCA President Ajinkya Naik. Participants concluded the route by formally pledging to maintain the momentum of the day through continued environmental stewardship. Deepak Singh noted that such gatherings function as essential catalysts for youth, transforming abstract goals of sustainability into tangible, healthier lifestyle choices for the next generation.
