Three separate strikes across the Kherson region left five civilians dead on Friday, marking another day of intense cross-border violence. The deadliest incident occurred within Kherson city, where an artillery strike claimed the lives of three elderly residents, according to regional governor reports.
The violence extended beyond the city center as an assault on a petrol station north of the regional capital killed one person and left seven others wounded. By evening, a separate drone strike in a village north of Kherson resulted in a fifth fatality. These incidents underscore the persistent danger in a region that has remained a volatile front line since Ukrainian forces reclaimed the city following the 2022 Russian invasion.Simultaneously, the conflict spilled across the border into Russia’s Belgorod Region, where a Ukrainian drone strike reportedly killed a driver. While both Moscow and Kyiv maintain that their military operations do not deliberately target non-combatants, the mounting civilian toll continues to rise. These claims remain subject to independent verification as artillery and drone exchanges persist daily.
