Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has formally petitioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release a comprehensive white paper addressing the systemic failures and recurring paper leaks plaguing national competitive examinations. The demand follows a pattern of administrative ambiguity that has left millions of aspirants in a state of chronic uncertainty.
The veteran politician highlighted the severe psychological burden placed on students, specifically citing the recent cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination. Singh argues that the current lack of transparency regarding investigative progress has eroded faith in the testing process, allowing speculation and unverified claims to dominate the public narrative.Central to his critique is the absence of a consolidated record detailing investigations conducted by agencies like the CBI. Singh pointed to the growing perception of impunity, noting that reports of key suspects in the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak securing bail have exacerbated public frustration. By calling for a public accounting of these cases, he seeks to force a restoration of institutional accountability within the national examination framework.
