Annette Holmes is pushing for the permanent removal of 33-year-old Tarsem Singh, the man charged in the high-speed crash that killed her 17-year-old daughter, Ashlee, and her unborn grandchild. Singh, an Indian national living in the United States illegally, remains in custody facing multiple felony counts following the February 16 incident.
The tragedy unfolded when Singh, driving a Range Rover Velar, led deputies on a pursuit reaching speeds exceeding 120 mph. The chase ended when the vehicle failed to navigate a curve, struck a Jeep, and overturned, ejecting the pregnant teenager from the car. Relatives of the victim noted that Ashlee had attempted to end the relationship with Singh multiple times prior to the fatal collision.Following the crash, federal authorities lodged a detainer against the defendant, who entered the country in 2017 through the southern border. While Singh is currently held on a $1 million bond, his legal proceedings are moving forward with a jury trial scheduled for August 17–21. He faces charges including involuntary manslaughter, reckless homicide, and aggravated vehicular homicide. Annette Holmes remains firm in her stance that Singh should be deported regardless of the court's final verdict.
