Sreeja Reddy, from Shabdullapuram village in Kanagal Mandal, Nalgonda district, travelled to the United States about a year and a half ago for higher education and was also working part-time. Her father, Koyya Yadagiri Reddy, said she had recently returned to India for a month before going back to the US.

According to her father, Sreeja went to college on the day she disappeared, returned to her room and later went out for a walk. He said she went missing after walking about 1 km and that a complaint was registered. The family has been waiting anxiously for her return.

Police said her last available location was near her room, and that the college had been informed. Her father said police told the family she might be nearby because the last location was about half a kilometre from the room. He said five days had passed since she went missing.

The Boston Police Department said it was actively working to locate Sreeja Koya and urged anyone with information to call 911 or contact District C-11 (Dorchester) Detectives at (617) 343-4335.
