Cembra finalizes 800 million franc vehicle portfolio acquisition

Cembra has officially integrated 670 million Swiss francs into its balance sheet, marking the first phase of an 800 million franc vehicle financing portfolio acquisition. The deal, originally announced in July, secures key partnerships with major international automotive manufacturers and bolsters the bank's domestic market position in new car financing.

The remaining 130 million francs of the portfolio are slated for transfer in 2027. By absorbing these existing agreements, the bank is scaling its new leasing platform and anticipates a measurable boost to profitability. Management projects an increase in earnings per share by 2027, followed by a 25 basis point rise in return on equity beginning in 2028.

Beyond the portfolio purchase, Cembra solidified a long-term exclusive partnership with Santander. This alliance covers pan-European leasing and financing initiatives within Switzerland, designed to broaden the bank's business pipeline. The increased volume is expected to drive operational efficiency across the firm’s vehicle financing division.
