Franck Sabbah Pivots to Boutique Asset Management Distribution

After two decades navigating the asset management industry, Franck Sabbah is launching Geneva-based Solid 3 to provide specialized distribution support for boutique firms in Switzerland. The move follows his departure from Berenberg, where he spent nearly a decade building the firm’s international sales presence before it shuttered those operations.

Sabbah’s strategy centers on a lean, high-conviction model. Rather than casting a wide net, he intends to cap his roster at seven partners, focusing on firms with distinct, specialized mandates. His first two clients, currency manager 7orca and European equity shop Indépendance AM, manage approximately €23 billion and €2.5 billion respectively. By acting as an outsourced distribution arm, Solid 3 aims to help these boutiques penetrate the Swiss market without the prohibitive costs of building local infrastructure from scratch.

His approach is built on personal conviction; he only represents strategies he would trust with his own capital. This selective philosophy serves as a hedge against the market's current volatility. According to Sabbah, the true test of a distribution partnership emerges when performance fluctuates, requiring deep product knowledge rather than transactional sales. Operating on a success-based fee structure, he plans to expand his footprint to Zurich within five years, potentially eyeing further international locations as the business matures.
