The dispute centers on Kyiv's report earlier this week that SpaceX had throttled the military-grade satellite service, a lifeline for Ukrainian battlefield communications, drone operations, and long-range strikes. Following the reported outages, Musk stated that any changes to speed or usage were decisions made by the US military and the president himself.
President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on Friday that the service is currently being restored. He indicated that his administration engaged with the White House, which subsequently pressured SpaceX to resume full functionality. This friction occurs against a backdrop of escalating diplomatic tension, as Trump has recently criticized Ukraine's strike strategy against Russian oil infrastructure and publicly questioned Zelensky’s leadership. The US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, maintained that no directive to restrict the technology originated from the Oval Office.
