Truth Social Traffic Slides Despite Trump’s Digital Megaphone

Daily traffic on Donald Trump’s Truth Social has cratered by more than 30 percent over the past year, falling to an average of 260,000 users last month. Despite the former president’s frantic posting cadence as the 2026 midterms loom, the platform is struggling to maintain its audience base.

Data from Similarweb highlights a stark decline from the platform's June 2025 peak of 420,000 daily users. This downturn persists even as Trump utilizes the site as his primary outlet for policy announcements, military commentary on the Iran war, and high-frequency content drops—including a recent stretch of 25 posts in a single afternoon. His feed, often featuring AI-generated media and curated news clips, has not translated into the sustained engagement required to reverse the trend.

Financial disclosures reveal a deeper strain on the parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group. The firm reported a net loss exceeding $405 million in the first quarter of this year, against net sales of roughly $871,000. These losses, largely attributed to volatile digital assets and stock-based compensation, pushed the company’s annual deficit to over $712 million for 2025. While TMTG spokespeople dismissed these reports as evidence of systemic media bias, the platform—originally built as a refuge following his 2021 bans from mainstream tech giants—faces mounting pressure to justify its business model as user interest wanes.
