State General Secretary Lella Appi Reddy and Legal Cell President Manohar Reddy presented a formal complaint to the election nodal officer, citing a pattern of obstruction spanning Tadipatri, Pattikonda, Rayachoti, and Tirupati. According to the party, police remained passive during the Punganur violence, where Midhun Reddy’s convoy was pelted and several vehicles destroyed. Appi Reddy characterized the government’s reliance on law enforcement to suppress opposition activity as a desperate move to avoid fair electoral competition.
The party’s legal team highlighted a string of aggressive maneuvers, including the detention of Dachepalli candidate Koppula Ravikumar and the targeting of former MLA Peddareddy and candidate Fayaz Basha. To counter these pressures, the YSRCP is demanding the immediate deployment of central paramilitary forces, enhanced CCTV surveillance, and expedited processing of nomination certificates. They insist that without state intervention to secure the filing process, the integrity of the local-body elections remains under direct threat.
