Campaigning in Supaul for the Kosi Graduate MLC seat, Kishor framed the current electoral climate as a crisis of confidence. He argued that the perception of the Commission aiding the ruling dispensation is not a fleeting reaction to a single incident, but a decade-long accumulation of concerns regarding the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct and the preparation of voter rolls.
Beyond institutional critiques, Kishor leveraged the election to challenge the political status quo in Bihar. He pledged to secure Seventh Pay Commission salary scales for all teacher categories before the Lok Sabha elections, staking his future political credibility on the outcome. Simultaneously, he dismissed veteran JD(U) figures and former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi as politically irrelevant, challenging his rivals to prove their standing by securing a direct endorsement from an ailing Nitish Kumar. Kishor noted the conspicuous absence of the Chief Minister from campaign materials, suggesting that local leaders are merely exploiting Kumar’s name to ensure their own survival.
