Officers recovered a rifle, high-capacity magazines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition during a search of the suspect's residence. Investigators also discovered a tactical vest outfitted with body armor and a patch featuring white supremacist imagery. The document attributed to Paporakis, titled "Why I Fought: A.K.A.: (Aurora Shooter's Manifesto)," explicitly labeled Indian, Jewish, and African American communities as "subhumans" while outlining his intentions for a mass casualty attack.
Authorities were alerted to the danger after a coworker reported the threats, leading to a coordinated response by the Mount Prospect and Palatine police departments. The suspect, who allegedly complained to a colleague that his weapon had jammed earlier that day, now faces felony charges for making a terrorist threat and unlawful weapon possession. A judge ordered Paporakis detained following a hearing Wednesday, with his next court appearance set for October 30.
