Congress MP Pramod Tiwari characterized the intervention as a familiar BJP tactic designed to derail democratic movements. He argued that the ruling party deploys such narratives whenever public dissent gains momentum, questioning the authenticity of the singer's claims. For Tiwari, the ongoing agitation represents a fundamental struggle to protect India's constitutional integrity, which he believes the government is attempting to obscure through political theater.
Simultaneously, Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao escalated the rhetoric by alleging that the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) serves as a front for the Aam Aadmi Party, backed by international donors. Rao drew parallels to past protests, suggesting that foreign capital is being funneled into India to foster instability. These accusations coincide with the detention of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were remanded to five days of judicial custody on Wednesday. A magistrate ordered the detention after the pair failed to provide necessary surety, citing concerns over public order following incidents at the JDU office and Jantar Mantar. The judicial proceedings are set to resume on October 19.
