Braj Mohan Ram: New Odisha Governor Rejects Partisan Allegations

Newly appointed Odisha Governor Braj Mohan Ram is pushing back against reports suggesting he intends to prioritize the Bharatiya Janata Party within his state role. Speaking on Thursday, the veteran politician insisted he has moved beyond party affiliations, emphasizing that his tenure will focus on inclusive governance rather than partisan interests.

Addressing claims that he planned to bolster the BJP organization in Odisha, Ram clarified his stance in an interview with ANI. While acknowledging a lasting emotional affinity for the party that served as his political foundation, he declared himself free from specific party mandates. "I am now above party politics," he stated, reinforcing his commitment to serving all citizens of the state equally.

His appointment, confirmed by President Droupadi Murmu on October 12, coincides with a broader reshuffle of gubernatorial positions across India. As Ram prepares to step into the role, the state is also marking the departure of his predecessor, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hosted a farewell for Kambhampati on October 14, publicly thanking the outgoing governor for his contributions to the state's development journey since taking office in early 2025.
