The Election Commission of India has scheduled the biennial elections for October 23, with results set to be tallied on October 27. These polls involve four teachers’ constituencies—Patna, Darbhanga, Tirhut, and Saran—alongside four graduates’ constituencies in Patna, Darbhanga, Tirhut, and Kosi. The current terms for members in these eight seats conclude on November 16.

The BJP has confirmed its roster for the contest, selecting Naval Kishore Yadav for the Patna Teachers constituency and N.K. Yadav for the Kosi Graduates seat. Sarvesh Kumar will represent the party in the Darbhanga Graduates segment, while Narendra Prasad Singh contests the Tirhut Teachers constituency. Minister Kumar emphasized the importance of the exercise, urging eligible voters to participate in the selection process to bolster the alliance's legislative presence.
