Kharge directed his criticism at the BJP’s handling of the democratic process, pointing to suspicious modifications in voter registration documents. According to the Minister, pre-printed Form 7s and unauthorized changes to Form 6 indicate a calculated effort to manipulate electoral rolls. Beyond policy, he mocked the party's internal hierarchy, describing local BJP legislators as mere cheerleaders forced to stand behind barricades during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visits.
The rhetoric aligns with a broader push by the opposition to challenge the current administration’s legitimacy. Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan characterized recent INDIA bloc protests in Delhi as the "beginning of the end" for the central government, condemning the detention of demonstrators as evidence of state fear. Simultaneously, Karti Chidambaram intensified the pressure on the Election Commission of India. He alleged that the poll body has abandoned its mandate for collective decision-making, claiming that the Chief Election Commissioner is now forcing through unilateral, illegal directives. The BJP has not yet provided a formal rebuttal to these mounting accusations of procedural and democratic malpractice.
