The gathering, which brought together INDIA bloc leaders, civil society members, and student organizations, follows a march to the Supreme Court where eleven opposition leaders challenged the Election Commission’s recent decisions regarding electoral rolls. Shrinate characterized these ongoing protest marches as a persistent effort to force the government to abandon what she described as nefarious activities. She argued that the BJP’s current narrative is merely a byproduct of their own political frustration.
Rahul Gandhi, who hosted the event, emphasized that the movement to protect democracy remains unified and relentless. Following the tea meeting, the coalition intends to present a formal case to the media, signaling a coordinated escalation in their strategy. Gandhi noted that the opposition is prepared to sustain this pressure, framing the protests not as isolated events but as a singular, ongoing campaign to hold the Centre accountable.
