Himachal Governor Kavinder Gupta leads Navratri prayers in Shimla

Amid the third day of Navratri, Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta gathered staff at Shimla’s Lok Bhawan for a traditional yagya and communal bhandara. The event served as both a spiritual plea for protection against natural disasters and a platform for the Governor to advocate for renewed moral values among the youth.

Gupta emphasized the significance of the nine forms of Goddess Durga, noting that the state’s numerous Shakti Peeths—including Jwala Ji and Naina Devi—remain pillars of local resilience. Beyond the ceremonial aspects, he framed the gathering as an opportunity to address pressing social concerns, specifically calling for a collective effort to combat drug abuse and foster prosperity across the region.

The Governor argued that societal progress requires more than government policy, asserting that moral and cultural values must be instilled at home and within educational institutions to curb disrespectful behavior. Addressing the broader national context, Gupta urged citizens to adopt a "Nation First" perspective. He warned that external forces continue to monitor and occasionally challenge India’s growing influence, but insisted that a vigilant, patriotic youth remains the country’s most reliable defense against such interference.
