The initiative debuted at the World Bank Group–IMF Annual Meetings in Bangkok, where over 200 leaders from family offices and philanthropic networks gathered to refine how private resources address systemic challenges. Paschal Donohoe, the institution's Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer, noted that the platform serves to connect innovative solutions directly to the Group's core missions, including its jobs agenda and infrastructure development.
Practical cooperation has already begun through new agreements with the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network and Temasek Trust. AVPN is establishing a dedicated fund to provide technical assistance for the Health Works project, which aims to secure affordable healthcare for 1.5 billion people. Simultaneously, Temasek Trust will leverage its experience in mobilizing capital to refine partnership models for established programs like AgriConnect and Water Forward.
To ensure these efforts transition from research to country-level results, the Hub is supported by a network of Knowledge Partners. Organizations ranging from the Mo Ibrahim Foundation to the London School of Economics' Marshall Institute will provide the regional data and strategic advisory services necessary to tailor development solutions to local contexts. This ecosystem is designed to move the institution away from fragmented project-based work toward a more cohesive model of collective global action.
