CJP Activists Decry Closure of Jantar Mantar as Assault on Dissent

“The Cockroaches have shown that this country does not belong to just one person,” declared activist Mehr Parsicha after police detained demonstrators at Jantar Mantar. The move to de-notify the iconic protest site has ignited a fierce confrontation between the Cockroach Janta Party and the central government over constitutional expression.

CJP Activists Decry Closure of Jantar Mantar as Assault on Dissent

Following the detention of Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, and 12 others at the Jaffarpur Kalan police station, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has launched a blistering critique of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Parsicha characterized the prohibition of gatherings at Jantar Mantar as a systematic attempt to push dissenting voices away from the capital’s power corridors, suggesting sarcastically that authorities might as well relocate protests to remote Himalayan peaks to ensure they remain unheard.

The party claims they attempted to follow protocol by offering to provide the required 10-day notice, yet found no senior officials available to coordinate. According to Parsicha, the site’s status was revoked within 30 minutes of their departure from the local station. Beyond the administrative dispute, the group highlighted the deployment of massive security forces in Central Delhi, questioning the necessity of mobilizing thousands of personnel to block a peaceful gathering. Parsicha directly implicated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in the decision, asserting that the Delhi Police is operating under explicit political directives to silence public opposition.
