Singh alleges that officers entered the sacred premises wearing shoes, caps, and carrying batons, actions he claims violate the decorum of the site. While Delhi Police dismissed these accusations, asserting that the footage shows personnel in a common transit area before the designated shoe-removal zone, the political fallout continues to intensify. Singh has issued ten formal questions to the committee leadership, challenging their decision to file a complaint against AAP members rather than the police.
Beyond the specific incident, the MLA questioned the committee's alignment with the BJP and RSS, citing a Hukamnama from Sri Akal Takht Sahib that restricts participation in such organizational programs. He argued that the committee’s current posture risks deterring those in need from seeking refuge in a gurdwara, fearing potential legal repercussions. The committee had previously filed an FIR against AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders, alleging that protesters disrupted the shrine and circulated misleading footage of the event. Singh insists these questions reflect broader concerns within the global Sikh community regarding the politicization of religious institutions.
