Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju condemned the demonstration, labeling the move a 'deplorable' abuse of constitutional authorities. On social media, he characterized the Congress party as directionless, suggesting the leadership focus on internal maturity rather than protest optics. The march, which included figures such as Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, centered on allegations of voter list rigging in states like Haryana, Assam, and Bihar.
While the opposition delegation sought an extension to file an in-person writ petition at the Supreme Court registry beyond the standard 4:30 pm cutoff, legal observers noted that the court’s e-filing portal remains accessible around the clock. Congress MP Charanjit Singh Channi stated that the protest is a necessary response to alleged 'vote theft' and warned that the coalition would continue its agitation to protect electoral integrity in upcoming contests.
