Rao argued that the Congress holds no moral authority to invoke the name of Lord Ram, citing the party’s historical opposition to the Ayodhya temple construction and its decision to skip the site’s consecration ceremony. Speaking to ANI, the BJP leader dismissed the Chief Minister’s rhetoric as a distortion of reality, questioning how a party that once prioritized religious identity politics could claim the mantle of divine virtue.
The conflict intensified as Rao characterized the Congress administration as a "Rakshasa Rajya," contrasting it with the BJP’s stated goal of establishing "Ram Rajya." He pointed to historical grievances, including the party’s past legal challenges against the temple and allegations that previous Congress prime ministers visited Babur’s tomb. Furthermore, Rao suggested that the current state government has failed to protect Hindu temples in Telangana, asserting that voters remain fully aware of the ideological divide between the two parties.
