Sachin Pilot Joins INDIA Bloc Protest Against Election Commission

“The right to vote is the biggest gift of the Constitution,” Sachin Pilot declared on Monday as he joined the INDIA bloc’s protest march in New Delhi. The Congress leader launched a sharp critique of the Election Commission, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral fraud.

Addressing reporters near the Constitution Club of India, Pilot argued that the integrity of the nation's democratic process faces an unprecedented moral crisis. He insisted that the Supreme Court must intervene to address what the opposition characterizes as systematic vote theft. The protest, led by senior figures including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, signals a deepening rift between the opposition coalition and the central government regarding the transparency of recent electoral conduct.

Beyond the allegations of rigging, Pilot condemned the heavy-handed security response from Delhi Police, describing the barricading of the capital as an infringement on fundamental civil rights. He questioned the shrinking space for peaceful dissent, noting that traditional protest sites like Jantar Mantar have become increasingly inaccessible. Despite the arrests of party leaders and the deployment of security forces, Pilot maintained that the opposition would continue its push for a judicial inquiry, asserting that the current administration must ultimately answer for these irregularities.
