Congress MP Rajeev Shukla confirmed the coalition’s intent to seek judicial intervention, citing faith in the Chief Justice of India to address their grievances. The demonstration serves as the latest in a series of institutional challenges led by the opposition, following unsuccessful attempts to engage the Election Commission and secure protest space at Jantar Mantar.
Imran Pratapgarhi dismissed government claims of public disorder, characterizing the crackdown on protesters as a display of state-sanctioned cowardice. He argued that the refusal to allow peaceful assembly at traditional sites, combined with the presence of police, reflects an attempt to suppress systemic dissent. Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel echoed this sentiment, framing the struggle as a long-term campaign to restore democratic accountability, which he claims was compromised by vote theft. As the march progresses toward the apex court, the coalition continues to demand the resignation of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, signaling that their pressure campaign will persist regardless of current administrative resistance.
