INDIA Bloc Launches Delhi Protest March Against Constitutional Erosion

Thousands flooded the streets of Delhi as the INDIA bloc launched a high-stakes protest march, challenging the central government over alleged electoral fraud and the systemic compromise of constitutional institutions. With security forces on high alert, opposition leaders declared the start of a unified, long-term movement against what they label an emerging dictatorship.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury confirmed the mobilization followed a direct call from the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, to unify the alliance. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut echoed this alignment, stressing that the bloc remains cohesive in its resistance. Protesters voiced intense frustration, with Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna arguing that constitutional bodies have ceased to uphold the rule of law, effectively blocking the path to justice for the common citizen.

The rhetoric intensified as Congress MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of weaponizing the Delhi Police to suppress dissent. Warring specifically challenged the government’s protection of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that his actions reflect a betrayal of public trust. Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad framed the march as an ideological defense of democracy, placing the rights of the public at the center of the struggle.

This demonstration occurred against the backdrop of a significant administrative shift in the capital. Authorities recently de-notified Jantar Mantar as a protest site, forcing organizers to navigate new restrictions. The Ministry of Home Affairs has mandated that future demonstrations relocate to designated areas like the Ramlila or Burari grounds. While the opposition gathered at the Constitution Club to plot their next steps, the movement signaled a clear intent to sustain its pressure, with members insisting that their battle for institutional integrity is only beginning.
