Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alongside opposition leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, joined the movement, framing the demonstration as a fight for constitutional integrity. Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury accused the ruling BJP of violating judicial rulings and using brute force to suppress dissent. The protest follows weeks of mounting tension, with opposition leaders alleging that the Election Commission has become an instrument for facilitating BJP candidacies.

Rahul Gandhi, who issued the 'Chalo Dilli' call, claims the Prime Minister is personally protecting CEC Gyanesh Kumar from accountability regarding alleged vote theft. The government has responded with heavy security measures across Central Delhi. Barricades block major routes, while multiple metro stations remain shuttered until 4:00 PM. Rapid Action Force and CRPF units have been deployed alongside Delhi Police to contain the crowds as the opposition seeks to force a judicial intervention into the electoral machinery.
