Gandhi announced that the INDIA bloc is preparing to file a formal petition with the Supreme Court following communication with the Chief Justice of India. He characterized the current political struggle as a fight for the nation's core, arguing that the government’s current trajectory serves corporate interests while endangering the populace. The opposition leader specifically targeted Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, demanding his resignation and citing alleged corruption and past misconduct.
During a press conference, Gandhi maintained that the resistance against current governance is a sustained effort rather than a temporary protest. He encouraged supporters to remain steadfast despite police barricades and crackdowns, framing the protection of the Constitution as a sacred duty for the youth. By highlighting an alleged divide between the ruling leadership and security personnel, Gandhi claimed that significant portions of the police and paramilitary forces sympathize with the opposition's mission to challenge what he termed the hijacking of democratic institutions.
