The demonstration, dubbed "Challo Dilli," moves from Connaught Place toward the Supreme Court to voice opposition against the current functioning of the Election Commission. This escalation follows unsuccessful attempts by opposition leaders to secure a meeting with the Chief Justice of India to address their grievances. Chief Minister Sukhu characterized the movement as a fundamental struggle for the protection of the Constitution, warning that government attempts to suppress dissent through police action or administrative barriers will only fuel public resentment.

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who is spearheading the campaign, recently highlighted clashes involving Delhi Police and BJP workers during protests demanding the resignation of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Gandhi maintains that these actions represent a systematic effort to undermine democratic processes, a concern he claims to have raised as early as two years ago. Despite the refusal of a judicial audience, the coalition intends to proceed with the march and a subsequent news conference to amplify their demands.
