Legislators and senior party officials met in New Delhi to finalize their demonstration strategy. MLA Manju Choudhary framed the movement as a unified front against the central government, citing sustained pressure exerted under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership. Beyond general grievances, the party has formalized a demand for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, signaling an escalation in their confrontation with the Election Commission.
Authorities have braced for the disruption, deploying the Rapid Action Force, the Central Reserve Police Force, and local police across the capital. Security measures include the closure of key metro stations—Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, and Barakhamba Road—until 4:00 PM on October 12, 2026. With barricades installed near Mandi House, the coalition has issued a nationwide call for citizens to join the agitation against the current electoral process.
