The Deputy Chief Minister noted that while it is natural for the public and religious leaders to offer their support, the political landscape operates under established conventions. He clarified that any ambition for the post would be moot while the current Chief Minister remains in office. For Parameshwara, the party structure dictates the trajectory of leadership, leaving no room for a vacancy-based challenge at this time.
His comments followed the inauguration of the state-level Dasara Sports Meet-CM Cup 2026 at the Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium in Mysuru. Drawing from his own history as an athlete, he credited the long-standing tradition of the festival for shaping his competitive career. The event, which traces its roots to the Vijayanagara Empire, now features 26 sporting disciplines. Parameshwara highlighted that his government is currently prioritizing improved infrastructure, job reservations, and increased prize money to further bolster the state's sporting culture.
