Rao, speaking to reporters on Friday, claimed that Gandhi exhibits a pattern of endorsing external critics of India, specifically citing Donald Trump and Musk. He argued that the Congress leader remains silent when these figures make comments detrimental to the nation, such as Trump’s rhetoric on trade tariffs, yet actively engages when they challenge Indian regulatory policy.
The friction stems from a public interaction on X, where Musk labeled the government’s handling of his satellite internet service as “troubling.” Gandhi replied with a pointed invitation to the billionaire, suggesting he has yet to experience the full scope of India’s bureaucratic landscape. Rao categorized this engagement as a strategic surrender to anti-India sentiments, insisting that the opposition leader’s public statements serve to undermine domestic policy frameworks rather than foster constructive discourse.
