Madhav emphasized that the government follows established legal frameworks for satellite spectrum distribution. He noted that major domestic players, including Jio and Airtel, remain in the queue alongside Starlink, awaiting regulatory clearance. The BJP leader framed the current process as a transparent mechanism, contrasting it with the alleged haphazard spectrum sales that characterized the UPA era.
Directing his criticism at Gandhi, Madhav highlighted the ideological inconsistency within the Congress party. He pointed out that while party advisor Jairam Ramesh previously characterized Starlink as a national security risk, Gandhi has recently aligned himself with Musk’s complaints regarding market access. Madhav questioned what prompted this change in stance, mockingly referring to the Congress leader as 'Surrender Gandhi' for his eagerness to support the SpaceX CEO. The exchange follows Musk’s public criticism of India’s licensing environment, which prompted a supportive response from Gandhi on social media.
