Gogoi’s mobilization has spilled beyond the assembly grounds, with coordinated demonstrations erupting throughout Guwahati. The legislator reports that seven protests have already occurred in the city, with three more scheduled as part of a campaign he vows will continue until officials address the humanitarian crisis. Despite the visibility of the movement, Gogoi claims he has received no outreach from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma or the Chief Secretary.
The standoff is increasingly defined by allegations of state intimidation. Gogoi condemned the administration for deploying police to suppress political dissent rather than engaging in dialogue. His critique follows the detention of several Raijor Dal members during recent Guwahati rallies. By prioritizing police intervention over negotiation, the government is failing its duty to the victims, according to the MLA. He remains steadfast in his demand for immediate financial relief for displaced families, framing the government’s current stance as an undemocratic refusal to acknowledge the scale of the destruction.
