Congress MPs Gurjeet Singh Aujla and Srinivas BV spearheaded the verbal assault on Thursday, accusing the BJP of orchestrating a systematic subversion of democracy. Aujla challenged the government’s narrative, arguing that the ruling party itself is responsible for the current climate of instability by allegedly manipulating vote counts. He insisted that the demand for Kumar’s resignation is now a national imperative, characterizing the opposition’s movement as a necessary fight for public accountability.
Srinivas BV escalated the rhetoric by accusing the government of shielding those responsible for what he labeled as institutional and electoral theft. He dismissed the recent FIRs filed against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as predictable maneuvers, claiming the government resorts to legal intimidation whenever it perceives a genuine political threat. Echoing this sentiment, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal described the current political climate as a do-or-die battle. The bloc is now coordinating its next steps, with leaders preparing to march to Rajghat to formalize their protest against the commission’s leadership.
