Pargat Singh, accompanied by Sachin Pilot, emphasized that their presence in Amritsar was intended for reflection rather than political maneuvering. Standing before the historic site, Singh underscored the sanctity of the space, distancing the party’s current mission from the divisive rhetoric often found in state politics. The delegation also paid respects at the Durgiana Temple, framing the day as a spiritual start to their tenure.
Congress leader Vijay Inder Singla addressed the media to dispel rumors regarding internal rifts, characterizing the party as a united front behind the new state leadership. He pointed to the transition from former president Raja Warring, who served for over four years, as evidence of stability rather than volatility. Singla dismissed opposition claims of long-term power entrenchment, asserting that the party is focused on organizational cohesion ahead of the 2027 assembly elections. For now, the Congress leadership maintains that their primary objective is to consolidate support and rebuild the party structure from the ground up.
