Shivakumar claims that thousands of Form 7 applications were pre-printed at BJP headquarters, populated with voter data, and distributed to local cadres to facilitate mass deletions. He asserted that after his party filed formal complaints, local agents scrambled to withdraw the forms to cover their tracks. He displayed a bag of physical evidence, labeling the coordinated effort a criminal enterprise rather than a standard administrative procedure.
This political firestorm follows a concrete legal challenge in Bengaluru. On Tuesday, local police registered an FIR against two BJP Booth Level Agents, Ramakrishna and Yogesh, following a complaint by Karnataka Mahila Congress President Sowmya Reddy. The case centers on the Jayanagar Assembly constituency, where the accused allegedly submitted fraudulent applications to delete 5,698 voters between June 16 and October 5. Investigators have booked the suspects under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, citing the use of forged signatures and unauthorized identity usage to target voters perceived as unfavorable to the BJP.
