Jharkhand mourns passing of Rupi Soren, mother of CM Hemant Soren

Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the tributes, noting her lifelong commitment to the empowerment of tribal communities. In a personal message, the Chief Minister reflected on the profound void left by her absence, describing her as his greatest source of refuge following the passing of his father, the late Dishom Guru Shibu Soren. The party characterized her legacy as one defined by sacrifice, patience, and unwavering support during the formative struggles of the JMM.

Beyond state borders, political figures including Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and BRS leader KT Rama Rao offered their sympathies to the Soren family. As the state marks this loss, her mortal remains have been moved to the Chief Minister’s residence in Morabadi to allow for public and private final respects.
