This rhetoric arrives shortly after SpaceX executives confirmed that the company has already completed the necessary infrastructure investments to launch services.
At the India Mobile Congress 2026, SpaceX Vice President Lauren Dreyer stated that Starlink is fully prepared to operate, having established 20 gateway sites and localized data controls to meet national security requirements. While the government has issued preliminary licenses to three satellite firms, full service remains contingent on spectrum allocation and final security clearances. Musk, who has been seeking market entry for nearly four years, maintains that his service would provide vital, affordable connectivity to the country’s most remote and underserved regions.
