The gathering serves as a staging ground for a coordinated effort to secure a meeting with the poll panel. RJD leader Sudhakar Singh framed the assembly as a necessary response to the perceived erosion of constitutional norms, warning that agitation will intensify from block to district levels regardless of media coverage. He argued that the current struggle transcends simple electoral outcomes, positioning it as a defense of the democratic framework against arbitrary governance.
CPI MP P. Sandosh Kumar echoed this urgency, describing the movement as a nationwide rallying cry that has gained significant momentum since its inception in 2025. This meeting follows a series of confrontations, including an October 6 march to Nirvachan Sadan that saw leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra detained by Delhi Police. While the Election Commission maintains that no formal appointment request reached them before 4 pm on the day of the protest, the bloc insists that their grievances regarding the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls remain unaddressed. Lawmakers are now preparing to submit a formal memorandum, demanding accountability from the commission to protect what they term the paramount interests of the Constitution.
