Rahul Gandhi faces FIR after Akashvani Bhavan protest

The Delhi Police has registered an FIR against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi following a confrontation at Akashvani Bhavan during an INDIA bloc march toward the Election Commission. While the opposition decries the move as a sign of government overreach, the BJP characterizes the protest as an attempt to incite anarchy.

Congress MP Imran Masood rejected the allegations of forced entry, asserting that Gandhi acted within his capacity as the Leader of the Opposition while accompanied by fellow parliamentarians. JMM leader Manoj Pandey echoed this defense, framing the FIR as evidence of a government intimidated by public mobilization and describing the current administration as dictatorial.

The BJP responded with sharp condemnation, casting the protest as a calculated effort to undermine constitutional institutions. BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan labeled Gandhi a "democracy wrecker" and an "unstable spoilsport" unable to accept electoral defeat. Meanwhile, BJP MLC Parinay Fuke argued that such agitations create unnecessary friction during a period of national industrial growth. The clash stems from an INDIA bloc demonstration held to challenge the conduct of recent assembly elections, which resulted in a tense standoff with security forces.
