The controversy centers on the collection of 16.18 lakh Form-6 applications during house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers between October 27, 2025, and January 6, 2026. According to the CEO, these collections were a standard part of the enumeration phase mandated by the Election Commission of India. The office clarified that these forms were gathered to register eligible individuals whose names were absent from the electoral roll at the start of the revision period.
Addressing concerns about transparency, the state election body maintained that all claims and objections were handled in full compliance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. Only applications received after the January 6 draft publication were processed through the formal claims and objections portal. Furthermore, the CEO rejected claims that the acceptance rate for new registrations was based on arbitrary quotas, noting that each application undergoes a specific verification process regardless of volume. The poll body emphasized that the entire exercise remained open to political stakeholders, none of whom have raised formal objections regarding the integrity of the revision.
