State Congress president Jitu Patwari announced plans to burn effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CEC Gyanesh Kumar in every district across Madhya Pradesh. The local protest, which drew senior leaders including Digvijaya Singh and Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, focused on allegations of systemic voter fraud and the erosion of democratic institutions. Patwari accused the BJP of securing state governments through illicit means, claiming that nearly 300 MPs were denied a meeting with the CEC to demand accountability regarding electoral irregularities.
Singhar and Singh framed the confrontation as a critical defense of the Indian Constitution, arguing that the Election Commission has effectively transitioned into a proxy for the ruling party. As the opposition's "Save Democracy" campaign gains momentum, the Congress leadership vowed to maintain pressure on the streets. They maintain that the current administration is dismantling the independent pillars of governance, forcing a direct conflict between the INDIA bloc and the Election Commission over the integrity of the electoral process.
