Ashoka, alongside Legislative Council leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, argued that the Congress administration has failed to distribute promised compensation. Despite announcements of 2,500 rupees per family and 1 crore per taluk, funds for basic necessities like drinking water remain stalled. The opposition leader contrasted this with the 2021-22 period, when the BJP government provided relief beyond national norms without waiting for central intervention. He is now pushing for a minimum payment of 25,000 rupees per acre.
Beyond the agricultural crisis, Ashoka targeted the government’s broader fiscal management. He cited rising property taxes, electricity charges, and bus fares as evidence that the state’s flagship guarantee schemes are being funded by squeezing the public. He also challenged the administration’s focus, criticizing the proposed fragmentation of the Bengaluru Police Commissionerate as an unnecessary bureaucratic shift that threatens the city's security structure. According to Ashoka, the government is prioritizing internal power struggles over the fundamental needs of the state’s residents.
