Reddy asserted that the coalition government is engaged in a systematic effort to misappropriate public works. The party pointed to the Prodduturu–Mylavaram reservoir, noting that over 90 percent of the construction was completed during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, with trial runs conducted as early as 2022. The YSRCP has now issued a public challenge to the government to debate the development records of Kadapa and the state at large.
The dispute extends beyond water projects to housing initiatives. According to the party, the former administration distributed house-site pattas to 31.9 lakh individuals and established 17,000 Jagananna Colonies. Reddy alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu actively obstructed these efforts by challenging the distribution of land to over one lakh beneficiaries in court. The YSRCP maintains that the current administration is merely rebranding projects—ranging from market yards to bus stands and the Uddanam drinking-water scheme—to manufacture a narrative of progress while simultaneously favoring contractors in Amaravati for personal gain.
