The confrontation intensified in the national capital as INDIA bloc MPs marched from Parliament to Nirvachan Sadan to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were barred from entering the commission’s office complex, prompting a sit-in by opposition members. Trivedi seized the moment to challenge the Congress on its shifting stance regarding electoral integrity, pointing to past remarks by senior leaders including Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Ashok Gehlot, and K.C. Venugopal.
"We want to clearly ask the Congress whom it wants to benefit by giving voting rights to absent, shifted, dead and duplicate voters without any verification," Trivedi said during a press conference. He argued that the party is caught in a contradiction, noting that Congress leadership had previously raised concerns about voter duplication in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2021. He challenged the party to clarify whether its past warnings were accurate or if its current accusations against the poll body are mere political theater. Beyond the electoral process, Trivedi accused the Congress of maintaining a dynastic power structure that has historically undermined democratic norms, further alleging that the party is now attempting to exert influence over Akashvani.
