Opposition targets CEC after Supreme Court rebuke on Form 6

A Supreme Court observation questioning the validity of modified Form 6 has armed the INDIA bloc ahead of their Tuesday march to the Election Commission. Chief Justice of India Surya Kant clarified that the court had not authorized changes to the document, directly contradicting the poll panel's previous claims.

RJD MP Manoj Jha and CPI MP P Sandosh Kumar escalated their campaign against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of misleading the nation. Jha argued that the court's stance renders the current leadership unfit to oversee free and fair elections, calling for a restoration of democratic integrity. The opposition delegation intends to present these grievances at Nirvachan Sadan, marking a significant intensification in their ongoing confrontation with the poll body.

Sandosh Kumar leveled sharper accusations, alleging that the Election Commission falsely cited Supreme Court approval when implementing the disputed modifications on September 26. He characterized the discrepancy as a serious breach of public trust, adding the Form 6 controversy to existing opposition claims of electoral irregularities. The march serves as the latest action in the broader "Save Democracy" campaign, as opposition leaders demand accountability for what they describe as systemic failures within the commission's oversight of electoral rolls.
