Addressing reporters on Monday, Patra challenged Gandhi’s assertion that the Supreme Court declared Form 6 illegal. He clarified that the Court merely agreed to examine a petition concerning alleged modifications to the document, rather than issuing a verdict on its validity. Patra cited a September 2026 Election Commission press release, which confirmed no changes were made to the form and noted that existing declarations remain legally validated.
The BJP leader further dismissed allegations that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar lacked a consensus among commissioners. Patra pointed to a June 2025 order, later upheld by the Supreme Court in May 2026, as evidence of a unanimous decision. He highlighted that all three Election Commissioners appeared together at a press conference when the order was issued to demonstrate their collective agreement. Drawing parallels to past political controversies, Patra warned that spreading misinformation regarding constitutional bodies could carry serious consequences.
