Adhikari, campaigning in areas previously inaccessible to party workers, asserted that minority-majority booths are shifting support toward the BJP’s "double-engine" governance model. He emphasized the necessity of securing every vote across all communities, following his decision to vacate the Nandigram seat to retain Bhabanipur after the state assembly elections.
Conversely, West Bengal Congress chief Subhankar Sarkar challenged the incumbent narrative, pointing to long-standing stagnation in the region. He argued that despite high-profile political figures representing the constituency, the youth remain forced to migrate for employment. Sarkar urged voters to back the Congress candidate, describing him as a local advocate capable of addressing the persistent lack of development that has defined the area since 2007. The Election Commission intends to finalize the entire process by October 11, with vote counting set for October 9.
